La Dra. Pat Grounds cuenta con Doctorado en Estudios del Lenguaje por la Universidad de Canterbury Christ Church y con maestría en Lingüística Aplicada por la Universidad de Kent, Canterbury. Se desempeña como tutor en línea para la Universidad de Southampton de la Maestría en Enseñanza del Inglés, modalidad en línea. Es consultor independiente y trabaja en proyectos de entrenamiento con universidades mexicanas en las que se incluye el desarrollo y validación de exámenes estandarizados, diseño de materiales y revisión de programas de licenciatura y maestría. Trabaja como asesor externo para candidatos del examen DELTA de Cambridge. Sus intereses de investigación incluyen aprendizaje virtual y aprendizaje autónomo.
